Suburban Noize marked the 20th anniversary of Back 2 Base X with this indie exclusive pressing, the first time the album has been issued on red vinyl. It carries catalog number METHOD098 and reached stores on July 10, 2026. Seven songs play on side A and six on side B, and the runouts point to Technicolor as the pressing plant.
(hed) p.e. first released Back 2 Base X on June 6, 2006. It was the band's fifth studio album and its first for Suburban Noize, whose notes call the group the lords of G-punk. The record was meant as a return to basics, drawing on the Sex Pistols and the Clash and leaning less on studio enhancement than the albums before it. It was recorded in Jahred Gomes' Huntington Beach apartment; Gomes produced it with Kevin Zinger and Brad Xavier, and Patrick Shevelin mixed and mastered it.
The lineup was Gomes on vocals, Jaxon Benge on guitar, Mark Young on bass, Mark Bistany on drums and DJ Product on turntables. "Get Ready," the video above, and "Beware Do We Go" were the singles. The album peaked at No. 154 on the Billboard 200 and No. 12 on the Top Independent Albums chart.
