Black Vinyl LP

This is the standard black pressing of girls like girls the album: a single LP, catalog number ORR1022, issued in the US on June 12, 2026 by One Riot Records and KRO Records. The fourteen songs are split seven to a side, and a printed lyrics insert ships inside the jacket. The barcode is printed on the hype sticker on the front cover rather than on the sleeve.

Kiyoko made the record as a companion to Girls Like Girls, the 2026 coming-of-age film she directed for Focus Features from a screenplay she co-wrote with Stefanie Scott. The story began as her 2015 single "Girls Like Girls," which she turned into a novel in 2023 before bringing it to the screen. The novel debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times young adult hardcover list. The film is set in rural Oregon in the summer of 2006, which puts it a little closer to home for a Camas shop than most soundtracks get. The jacket describes the album as music from and inspired by the motion picture.

Four songs carry a "from the motion picture" credit, among them a new recording of the title song, which closes side B; the 2015 original was written by Kiyoko with Owen Thomas and Lily-May Young. Guest vocalists include Chelsea Cutler, August Ponthier, Snow Wife, Young Miko, Joy Oladokun, Tegan and Sara, and Gigi Perez. The recordings are licensed from Focus Features to KRO Records, One Riot Records and Rich Youth Records, and the album runs about 45 minutes.
