Celebration returns to vinyl on Catalyst Records as an indie-retail exclusive pressed on 180-gram blue vinyl. The album first appeared on Catalyst in 1977 as CAT 7624, the second of two records Hadley Caliman made for the West Coast label, following Projecting. The RSD Essentials notes call it one of the great undiscovered sessions of the spiritual jazz era.
The session was recorded at Sage & Sound Studios in Hollywood on June 7, 1977, produced by Pat Britt and engineered by James Mooney, with liner notes by Zan Stewart. Caliman plays tenor saxophone and flute, with Hotep Cecil Barnard on piano, David Williams on bass and Elvin Jones on drums.
Born in Idabel, Oklahoma, in 1932, Caliman grew up in Los Angeles, attended Jefferson High School, the same school as Dexter Gordon, and counted trumpeter Art Farmer among his teachers. By the time of this date he had recorded with Gerald Wilson's orchestra, Santana on Caravanserai, Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson and Freddie Hubbard. He later settled in Washington State, taught on the music faculty of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle until 2003, and died in Seattle in 2010.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates
Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.
Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.
Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.
While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.
Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.
Signature Requirements
Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

Once your order ships, you’ll receive tracking information via email. We recommend monitoring tracking updates and ensuring delivery to a secure location.
