Black Vinyl 2LP, 35th Anniversary Edition

This is the black-vinyl pressing of Rap-A-Lot Records' 35th anniversary edition of We Can't Be Stopped, newly remastered and laid out across two LPs. The release notes call it the album's first double-LP presentation on vinyl and its first black-vinyl pressing since 2014, and the original cover artwork has been restored for the reissue. The record labels carry catalog number RAL2K002 beside the Virgin Music Group mark: the edition belongs to a run of standard and limited reissues that Rap-A-Lot and Virgin Music Group are issuing for the Houston label's 40th anniversary.

We Can't Be Stopped was the Geto Boys' third studio album, released on July 9, 1991, and certified Platinum in early 1992. Scarface, Willie D and Bushwick Bill recorded it in a matter of weeks. DJ Ready Red, one of the group's original members, left for personal reasons during the sessions, though his short verse remains on the title track. Each of the three rappers takes three solo tracks, and three songs put all three on the mic together.

The album's single, "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," was produced by Scarface and started out as a song for his own solo work before Rap-A-Lot made it a group track. Built on a sample of Isaac Hayes' "Hung Up on My Baby," it reached No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest chart placing of any Geto Boys single. Rough Trade's notes credit that crossover with making this the group's most commercially successful release.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.
