Indie Exclusive Opaque Silver Vinyl

Pulse Records pressed this edition of gutta child, Gabriel Jacoby's debut EP, on opaque silver vinyl as an Indie Exclusive for independent record stores. It is a single LP holding all eight tracks, four to a side, and it reached shops in July 2026, eight months after the EP's digital release on November 14, 2025.

Jacoby produced the record himself, drawing on blues, funk, R&B and dirty south hip hop, and Tampa rapper Tom G appears on "bootleg." Three of the songs here, "baby," "the one" and "be careful," are among the Jacoby singles the label says have each passed one million streams. Billboard called "the one" a "funky ode to an undeniable love" when it came out as a single in September 2025, and "be careful" was his first performance on COLORS.

Pitchfork scored gutta child 7.3 out of 10, and NPR named it among its picks of new albums on the day it came out. Billboard called the title track "an instant contender for one of the year's grooviest R&B songs." Jacoby spent late 2025 as the only support act on every date of Khamari's To Dry a Tear North American tour, then headlined his own US tour in early 2026.

Born in Anderson, South Carolina, in 1998, the eldest of seven siblings, Jacoby moved with his family to Tampa, Florida, at nine. He taught himself piano as a child and later added drums, bass and guitar, and he names Bob Marley, Nina Simone, Outkast, Lil Wayne, Prince and James Brown among his influences. He also co-wrote "Chrome (Bonus)" for the complete edition of Shaboozey's Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going.
