Indie Exclusive Red Marble Vinyl With Signed Insert
New West Records pressed this edition of Blues Now for independent record stores: a single 150-gram LP on red marble vinyl in a tip-on jacket, packed with an insert autographed by GA-20 and Charlie Musselwhite. The album was released on July 31, 2026.
GA-20 booked six days of studio time in early 2025 and cut the record with Musselwhite at Rare Signals in Cambridge, Massachusetts, playing live and working fast. Guitarist Matthew Stubbs produced it. The songs come from Elmore James, Junior Wells, Eddie Taylor and others, plus two favorites from Musselwhite's 1968 debut, Stand Back! Stubbs has said the aim was to be influenced by that record rather than re-create it. The opener, "Crazy Love," is a Willie Dixon song that Buddy Guy recorded first.
The album closes with "Cristo Redentor," the video above. Musselwhite did not write it, but Stubbs calls it his signature song, and Cody Nilsen's lap steel plays alongside the harmonica. The week the album came out, GA-20 and Musselwhite made their television debut on CBS Saturday Morning.
