30th Anniversary Edition Red Blue & Night Sky Vinyl 2LP

At The Dojo Records' 30th anniversary edition of In Search Of... is a limited run of 2,000 copies across two LPs: the album on red blue vinyl and a second LP on custom night sky vinyl. Each record sits in a printed inner sleeve carrying previously unseen images, and the gatefold jacket adds previously unseen photographs of the band. Both LPs are newly remastered. Catalog number ATD031.

The second LP collects the album's demos, which the band recorded themselves in 1995 on a Tascam 4-track. The disc's label is marked "Summer 1995."

In Search Of... was Fu Manchu's third album and their major-label debut, released by Mammoth Records on February 27, 1996. It was recorded at Grandmaster Studios in Hollywood by the band and Brian Jenkins, whose credits include Kyuss and Screaming Trees. The lineup was Scott Hill on vocals and guitar, Eddie Glass on guitar, Brad Davis on bass and Ruben Romano on drums. It was the last album with Glass and Romano, who left shortly after and formed Nebula.

"Asphalt Risin'" was the first single, backed with a cover of Sammy Johns' "Chevy Van," and "Missing Link" followed. Classic Rock's Malcolm Dome included the album in a list of ten stoner rock albums to own, pointing to Glass and Romano's playing on "Asphalt Risin'" and "Seahag." In The Encyclopedia of Heavy Metal, Daniel Bukszpan credits the band's artwork, with its muscle cars and astronomy, among the first to set the visual style of stoner rock. At The Dojo's own notes call the album a pillar of the stoner rock movement.
