Double LP Vinyl Reissue

Island Records' 2018 reissue spreads Eric B. & Rakim's debut across two LPs, under US catalog number B0026367-01. uDiscover, Universal's own store, describes it as the first time the album has been issued as a 2LP set. The ten tracks run three to side A, two to side B, three to side C and two to side D.

Paid in Full first came out on July 7, 1987, on 4th & B'way, an Island imprint. The duo recorded it in early 1987, moving between Marley Marl's home studio and Power Play Studios in Manhattan, with Patrick Adams engineering most of the tracks. The title song was one of three cut at Power Play the night before a label deadline, and Rakim wrote its lyrics in about five minutes.

The running order holds ten tracks, three of them instrumentals, and carries Marley Marl's remixes of "Eric B. Is President" and "My Melody," the two sides of the duo's first single, rather than the original versions. Five singles came from the album. It reached No. 58 on the Billboard 200 and No. 8 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and the RIAA certified it platinum in 1995. Rolling Stone placed it at No. 61 on its 2020 list of the 500 greatest albums. On the cover, the pair wear custom outfits by Dapper Dan.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.
