Indie Exclusive Sunglow Vinyl

This is the 2026 Nature Sounds reissue of Faith Is The Key, pressed on Sunglow vinyl, a yellow run allocated to independent record stores and solicited by the distributor under the RSD Essentials banner. It is a single LP carrying the album's original nine tracks, catalog number NSD-805, a US release with a street date of September 11, 2026.

The configuration differs from Nature Sounds' 2017 reissue under the same catalog number, which paired the LP with a bonus 7-inch of two instrumentals, "Burning Flame" and "Agape Love," along with new liner notes and rare photos. Neither instrumental appears on this pressing.

Enlightment was a Washington, DC soul and gospel group founded in the early 1980s by ordained bishop Larry H. Jordan and his brother-in-law Frank Tinsley. Nature Sounds describes them as among the first groups to fuse modern R&B production with gospel themes. The album first came out independently in 1984 on New Release Records, and its release stalled when both the distributor and the pressing plant went out of business. Tinsley has said the record was getting airplay across the country while copies could not reach stores, and only a handful of LPs made it into the public's hands. By 2000, the label notes, original copies had become a holy grail for collectors.

The title track has a second life in sampling: Jungle's "Don't Play," from the British band's 2023 album Volcano, contains a sample of "Faith Is the Key," credited to Larry H. Jordan.
