Elongation Edition Green Smoke Vinyl 2LP With Etched D-Side

This is the Elongation Edition of Through Zero, one of six double-vinyl editions Blues Funeral Recordings offered for North America, pressed here on green smoke vinyl under catalog number BFR-051-LP. The album's six tracks run across three sides, and the fourth side carries an etching instead of music. Both discs sit in a deluxe gatefold jacket with full-color printed inner sleeves and a lyric insert, and the band's own announcement adds a download code to the package. The cover art and the record's visual identity are the work of artist Adam Hill.

Through Zero is Elder's seventh studio album and, as the band describes it, their longest studio production, close to an hour of music. It was tracked between tours at Big Snuff Studio in Berlin, and it is the first album Elder both produced and co-mixed themselves, sharing the mix with longtime collaborator Richard Behrens; Fabien de Menou contributed additional keyboards. The label's notes explain the title as an audio-engineering term for a frequency that passes through the zero point and carries on into the negative. Nick DiSalvo has said the title track, released in March 2026 as the first single, deals with impermanence and mortality. "Capture/Release" followed as the second single, with an official video shot and edited by Sean Miller.

Elder formed in Massachusetts in the mid-2000s and are now based in Berlin, with DiSalvo on vocals and lead guitar, Jack Donovan on bass, Mike Risberg on guitar and keyboards, and Georg Edert on drums. Rolling Stone placed their 2017 album Reflections of a Floating World fifth on its list of that year's top metal albums. Through Zero arrived on May 29, 2026, through Stickman Records in Europe, Blues Funeral in North America and Bird's Robe in Australia.
