Black Vinyl LP

This is the single-LP Reprise Records edition of Diamond Eyes, catalog number 511922-1, pressed on black vinyl. The current pressing is a 2021 repress, manufactured in the Netherlands, that carries the same barcode and catalog number as the 2010 original; that first US vinyl run was a limited edition on white vinyl. Turntable Lab lists a printed insert with the repress. The eleven tracks run six on Side A and five on Side B, the whole album at just over 41 minutes.

Diamond Eyes is the sixth studio album by Deftones, issued by Reprise on May 4, 2010, and the first the band made with producer Nick Raskulinecz. It took the place of Eros, an album finished with Terry Date in 2008 and set aside in June 2009 after bassist Chi Cheng was critically injured in a car accident in November 2008. Cheng died in 2013. Sergio Vega of Quicksand, who had filled in for Cheng on tour in 1999, plays bass throughout, alongside Chino Moreno on vocals and guitar, Stephen Carpenter on guitar, Abe Cunningham on drums and Frank Delgado on keyboards and samples.

The band wrote and rehearsed the songs together in a room instead of assembling them in Pro Tools, then recorded at The Pass in Los Angeles and American Studios in North Hollywood. Moreno summed up the record's theme as a "positive zest for life." The title track, which opens Side A, was released as the first single on March 23, 2010.

The album debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with 62,000 US copies in its first week, the band's fourth consecutive top-10 debut there. The iTunes Store named it Rock Album of the Year, and Kerrang! made it its Album of the Year. The RIAA certified it gold on July 3, 2025, and it also holds gold certifications in the UK and New Zealand.
