This 2026 repress puts Auto-Pain back on vinyl in blood red, with an obi strip and a hype sticker on the shrink. It is on Fire Talk under catalog number FTK-158, the same number as the first pressing.
Auto-Pain is the second album from the Chicago band Deeper, released on March 27, 2020, after the band announced it in January with the single "This Heat," the video above. Nic Gohl, Drew McBride and Shiraz Bhatti finished it as a trio. Fire Talk's notes say they came together through the city's DIY scene and a shared love of Wire, Devo, Gang of Four and Television, and describe the record adding synths to their guitar sound.
The title is meant as the inverse of soma, the numbing pill in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. The cover shows Chicago's since-demolished Prentice Women's Hospital, and the title also appears in Urdu as a nod to Bhatti's Pakistani heritage. Dave Vettraino recorded and mixed the album, and Greg Obis mastered it at Chicago Mastering. A deluxe edition followed in 2021, and in 2023 the band signed to Sub Pop, which released Careful! that September.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates
Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.
Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.
Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.
While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.
Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.
Signature Requirements
Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.
