Red With Black Swirl Vinyl LP, Glow-In-The-Dark Gatefold Sleeve

Ipecac Recordings pressed Dead Cross's self-titled debut on clear red vinyl swirled through with black, catalog number IPC193LP. The single LP comes in a gatefold jacket printed with glow-in-the-dark ink, so Eric Alan Livingston's many-armed skeleton keeps working after the lights go out. Ten tracks run five to a side.

The band formed in Southern California on November 30, 2015: guitarist Michael Crain and bassist Justin Pearson, both of Retox, with former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo and vocalist Gabe Serbian. Serbian left in 2016 after tracking his vocals, and the band chose not to release that version. Mike Patton was announced as singer that December and recorded over the finished music, writing his own lyrics. Serbian is still credited with vocals on "Idiopathic."

Ross Robinson produced and recorded the sessions, Patton is also credited with recording, Mike Balboa mixed, and John Golden mastered at Golden Mastering in Ventura, California. Track five is a cover of Bauhaus's "Bela Lugosi's Dead." Ipecac and Three One G released the album jointly on August 4, 2017. It peaked at No. 180 on the Billboard 200, No. 2 on Heatseekers, No. 7 on Vinyl Albums and No. 12 on Top Hard Rock Albums, and holds a Metacritic score of 76. Livingston also made the animated video for the opener, "Seizure and Desist."
