This is the black vinyl edition of Young, Loud and Snotty from Jackpot Records, catalog number JPR-068. The label sourced it from the original master tapes, and the ten songs run five to a side, with "Sonic Reducer" opening side one.
The Dead Boys came out of Cleveland, Ohio, and relocated to New York, where frequent shows at CBGB led to the club's owner becoming their manager. They signed to Sire Records, recorded this debut at Electric Lady Studios in 1977 with Genya Ravan producing, and Sire released it that October. It reached No. 189 on the Billboard 200, the only Dead Boys album to chart. "Hey Little Girl" was recorded live at CBGB.
Stiv Bators sang, Cheetah Chrome played lead guitar and Jimmy Zero rhythm, with Jeff Magnum on bass and Johnny Blitz on drums. Ted Jensen mastered the original release. In a 2016 Rolling Stone readers' poll of the best punk albums, it placed seventh.
