Silver 180g Vinyl, Limited Edition of 2000 Numbered Copies
Music On Vinyl's 2026 edition of Cheap Trick's debut album puts the original ten tracks on a single 180-gram LP pressed in silver vinyl. The run is limited to 2,000 individually numbered copies under catalog number MOVLP3551, with Epic credited alongside the Dutch label, and a printed insert comes with the record.
Cheap Trick signed to Epic Records in early 1976 and issued this self-titled record the following year. Jack Douglas produced it at the Record Plant in New York, setting out to get the band's live sound onto tape: Robin Zander on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Rick Nielsen on lead guitar, Tom Petersson on bass and Bun E. Carlos on drums. "Oh, Candy" was the album's only single.
The album did not sell well on release, and Nielsen told Vice in 2016 that the band cared more about hearing its songs on radio in Chicago and Detroit than about the numbers. In Color followed before the end of 1977. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
