Limited Pearl Arctic Vinyl LP, 2026 Remaster

Peaceville's 2026 edition of Dactylis Glomerata (catalog VILELP1359) is a single LP pressed on limited Pearl Arctic vinyl. The audio is a new remaster that the band approved, done by Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony. This LP runs eleven tracks. It places the two songs first issued as Japanese bonus tracks into the running order: "Thirst" closes side A and "Container" closes side B.

The album first came out on 13 April 1998 through Music for Nations. It was the sixth Candlemass studio album and the first since the band split in 1994. Leif Edling had begun most of the songs as a second album for his side project Abstrakt Algebra. Music for Nations offered to pay for further recording if the record came out as Candlemass, and Edling wrote new material for it, including "I Still See the Black," "Karthago" and "Wiz."

Michael Amott of Arch Enemy, formerly of Carcass, plays guitar, and Björn Flodkvist sings. Ian Haugland of Europe makes a guest appearance. Peaceville's notes describe the record as stripped-down, dirty doom rock, with stoner and hard rock elements and few of the band's earlier epic arrangements. The title comes from the grass Dactylis glomerata, whose flower Edling is allergic to.
