Elektra's vinyl edition of Running, the debut album by Cafuné, runs eleven tracks rather than the original nine: side B closes with two bonus tracks, "Friction" and a sped-up version of "Tek It." The single LP plays at 33 1/3 RPM and was manufactured in the US at Memphis Record Pressing.
Cafuné is the duo of singer-songwriter Sedona Schat and producer Noah Yoo, who met as students at New York University's Clive Davis Institute. They wrote and produced Running at home over several years, recorded it through 2020, and first released it on July 20, 2021 on their own label, Aurelians Club. Kyle Pulley mixed "Reconsider" at Headroom Studios.
"Tek It" spread on TikTok in early 2022 through anime edits, and Elektra signed the duo that June. The song reached No. 1 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 and No. 4 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, and the RIAA has certified it 4x Platinum. Lil Uzi Vert later sampled it for "Red Moon." "High" and "Want Me Out" were also issued as singles from the album.
