Indie Exclusive Gold Vinyl 2LP

This edition presses Dillagence II on two gold vinyl LPs for independent record stores. It is released by The Conglomerate Entertainment, Busta Rhymes' own label, with distribution through EMPIRE, and it carries all 19 tracks of the album.

Every beat on the record is a J Dilla production. Busta has said Dilla sent him hundreds of beats before he died in 2006, and that on earlier albums he used only one or two at a time. Dillagence II is the follow-up to Dillagence, the 2007 mixtape the two made together, presented by Mick Boogie. SPIN reports that Busta began assembling the new album in November 2025, working with the Dilla estate and with Dilla's mother, Maureen "Ma Dukes" Yancey. Her spoken words open and close the album, and she also appears on "Royalty" alongside Busta's children, Cie and Trillian.

"This Woman" grew out of a session Dilla and D'Angelo started roughly 20 years ago and never finished. Rolling Stone describes the chorus as a D'Angelo scratch vocal that drifts into Sister Nancy's "Bam Bam." D'Angelo died in October 2025, and Hype Williams directed the song's video. The guest list also includes Lil Wayne, on his first Dilla beat, along with Common and Jon Batiste, Big Sean, Anderson .Paak and Ludacris, Talib Kweli and T3 of Slum Village. Busta has pointed out that he never uses his rapid-fire delivery over Dilla's music: "It doesn't warrant that."

J Dilla, born James Dewitt Yancey in Detroit, worked with D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, A Tribe Called Quest and Common, and died of complications from lupus at 32. The album was released digitally on August 25, 2026. Writing for the Associated Press, Maria Sherman gave it three and a half stars out of five.
