180 Gram Vinyl LP with Fold-Out Poster, Insert and Download Code

This is Constellation's vinyl edition of CST121, cut to 180-gram vinyl at Optimal in Germany. It comes in a heavyweight jacket with a black poly-lined dust sleeve, and the package also holds a full-color 12"x24" fold-out art poster, a full-color 12"x12" insert carrying the side listing and credits, and a download code for a 320 kbps MP3 copy of the album. The label issued the album on LP, CD and as a download.

Pas pire pop, I Love You So Much is the second album from the Montreal quartet, released by Constellation on January 20, 2017. Constellation's notes describe it as picking up where the band's 2014 debut Zubberdust! left off: the record opens with the group already in motion, developing a theme that had surfaced at the end of that album's closing track. Three long pieces run 42:47 in total. Side one holds the two shorter works, and side two is given over entirely to a single 20-minute piece. The digital edition indexes the movements inside those pieces separately; the LP lists the three as printed on the jacket.

The lineup is Sébastien Fournier and Éric Gingras on guitar and vocals, Samuel Bobony on drums, and Jean-Sébastien Truchy on bass, electronics, synths and vocals, with Bruno R. Julian adding electronics and noise. Radwan Ghazi Moumneh recorded and mixed the album at Hotel2Tango, Harris Newman mastered it at Grey Market in Montreal, and the artwork is by Marie-Douce St-Jacques. Constellation names krautrock, afrobeat, noise rock, post-rock and musique concrète among the band's touchstones, and FLOOD's review heard the Afro-pop textures pointing toward Talking Heads and Brian Eno around Remain in Light.
