2LP Black Vinyl with R&S Records Sticker Sheet

R&S Records' 2025 reissue presents Classics as a double LP on black vinyl, with a fresh lacquer cut by mastering engineer Beau Thomas; the label's notes call it a long-overdue re-press. The runouts on sides A and C carry his Ten Eight Seven Mastering signature, and the records were pressed at Pallas in Germany. Tucked into the sleeve is an R&S sticker sheet with the label's horse emblem and the cover artwork of the Digeridoo and Xylem Tube EPs, both of which are collected here.

The compilation first appeared on 30 January 1995 and gathers Richard D. James's early work for the label, founded in Ghent, Belgium in 1983. Alongside the two EPs are Analogue Bubblebath 1, Metapharstic (first issued on the 1992 compilation Mayday - A New Chapter Of House And Techno '92), two Aphex Twin remixes of Mescalinum United's We Have Arrived, and a 1990 live take of Digeridoo recorded in Cornwall.

Digeridoo reached No. 55 on the UK Singles Chart in 1992, and Rolling Stone later described it as foreshadowing drum and bass. R&S assembled Classics after James had found success on Warp Records; he had no creative input into the release and opposed it.

This pressing carries the pale blue Classics sleeve rather than the inverted, Selected Ambient Works 85-92-style design used for the 2008 remaster. A thirteen-track CD was issued alongside it.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.
