Indie Exclusive Tyrian Blue Vinyl LP

This is the independent-retail edition of Sirenas: a single LP pressed on Tyrian Blue vinyl, catalog number MEX394-0, issued by Mexican Summer on August 28, 2026. Two other vinyl editions came out alongside it. One is a standard black LP. The other is a transparent yellow "Sinar Surya" pressing sold only through the band's and the label's own webstores. Blue is the colorway kept for independent record shops.

Sirenas is the sixth album from the Los Angeles quartet of Matthew Correia, Spencer Dunham, Miles Michaud and Pedrum Siadatian. Mexican Summer presents it as their first fully instrumental record. The band produced it themselves at The Pumphouse in Topanga, California, and built the ten pieces out of long improvised sessions instead of songs written in advance. Michaud engineered and mixed the album, with Kyle Mullarky engineering "Caldera II." Dave Cooley mastered it at Elysian Masters in Pasadena. Clay Finch of Mapache plays flute.

The label's notes list The Durutti Column, I.A.O., Popol Vuh's scores for Werner Herzog and Jacques Cousteau's The Silent World as touchstones. "Vini da Gama" takes its cue from Durutti Column guitarist Vini Reilly.

Sirenas is the band's third album for Mexican Summer, after Calico Review in 2016 and LAHS in 2019. It follows Zuma 85, which came out on Innovative Leisure in 2023. The band itself goes back to 2008, when Correia and Dunham met Siadatian while all three worked at Amoeba Records in Los Angeles. A record-store colorway suits a band that started behind a record-store counter.
