CD in Jewel Case

The compact disc issue of Paper Airplane, catalog number 11661-0665-2, released in the United States on April 12, 2011. Eleven tracks run to just over forty-three minutes, from the three-and-a-half-minute title song to the five-minute reading of "Dimming of the Day."

This is the seventh Alison Krauss & Union Station album and Krauss' fourteenth, the band's first record together since Lonely Runs Both Ways in 2004 and her first release after the 2007 Robert Plant collaboration Raising Sand. The title track, written by Robert Lee Castleman, went to country and adult album alternative radio as the lead single on March 28, 2011.

The songs come largely from outside writers: Peter Rowan wrote "Dust Bowl Children," Viktor Krauss and Angel Snow "Lie Awake," Aoife O'Donovan "Lay My Burden Down," Barry Dean, Liz Rose and Lori McKenna "My Love Follows You Where You Go," Tim O'Brien "On the Outside Looking In," Barry Bales and Chris Stapleton "Miles to Go," Jeremy Lister "Sinking Stone," and Sidney Cox "Bonita and Bill Butler." Two are covers of records by their writers: Richard Thompson's "Dimming of the Day" and Jackson Browne's "My Opening Farewell," which closes the album.

It entered the Billboard 200 at number three, Krauss' highest entry on that chart, and went to number one on Top Country Albums, Top Bluegrass Albums and Folk Albums, selling about 83,000 copies in its first week. It won the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album, reached number 11 on the UK Albums Chart, and is certified silver by the BPI.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.
