Limited Edition 12-Inch Vinyl EP

Canada in Space is a five-song EP from Alden Penner, issued by City Slang on a single limited-run 12-inch record, catalog number SLANG50083. It marked his signing to the label after a stretch of low-key self-releases, and City Slang put it out in 2015 both digitally and on vinyl.

Three songs sit on side A, opening with "Breathe To Burn," the track City Slang shared to announce the record. Side B pairs "Candy" with "Meditate," which Penner had first released as a standalone track earlier in 2015; the EP carries a new mix of it. The back cover credits Penner with writing, performing and producing everything here, with co-production by Laura Crapo and backing vocals on "Meditate" from Michael Cera.

The concept starts from a fact Penner cited when he announced the EP: more Canadians than any other nationality are represented in the planned Mars colony. The songs imagine an abandoned crew before, during and after a one-way journey to Mars. Penner toured the UK and Europe behind it with Cera, Laura Crapo and Farley Miller in his live band.

Penner co-founded the Unicorns with Nicholas Thorburn in Campbell River, British Columbia, and their album Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? came out in 2003. He later formed Clues with Brendan Reed. Canada in Space followed Exegesis, a self-produced LP he released through Bandcamp in 2014, and its third track takes that record's name.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

Tracking & Safe Delivery

Once your order ships, you’ll receive tracking information via email. We recommend monitoring tracking updates and ensuring delivery to a secure location.

Evergreen Vinyl is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after being marked as delivered by the carrier. Customers are responsible for selecting a shipping address where deliveries can be received safely.

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect:

• Please retain all original packaging, including the outer box and packing materials

• Contact us as soon as possible (ideally immediately) after delivery

• Include your order number, a brief description of the issue, and clear photos

Prompt reporting allows us to resolve issues efficiently and, when applicable, pursue carrier claims.

Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method after inspection (if a return is required).

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.

Preorders

Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the order ships.

Once a preorder has shipped, it is treated as a completed order and is subject to the return, refund, and exchange policies outlined above.

The following items are not eligible for return or refund unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect:

• Merchandise and accessories
