Indie Exclusive Blue, Red & White Splatter Vinyl

This edition of Airbourne's self-titled album was pressed for independent record stores: a single LP on blue, red and white splatter vinyl, issued by Spinefarm Records as catalog number SPINE801174P. It comes in a gatefold jacket with a printed inner sheet. The records were made in the Czech Republic, and the runout markings place the lacquer cut at Sterling Sound.

The album is the Australian hard rock band's sixth studio record and its first since Boneshaker in 2019. It is also the first Airbourne album with rhythm guitarist Brett Tyrrell, who plays alongside brothers Joel O'Keeffe (lead vocals, lead guitar) and Ryan O'Keeffe (drums) and bassist Justin Street. Brian Howes, who produced 2013's Black Dog Barking, returned as producer, with Mike Fraser engineering and Zakk Cervini mixing. The sessions took place at Music Farm Studio outside Byron Bay; according to the label's notes, the studio houses the original Neve console from Alberts Studios, where AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and The Angels made their early albums.

Bryan Adams and Mutt Lange sing backing vocals on "Here She Comes" and "Who Put The Rhythm In You?". The opener, "Gutsy," came out in June 2025 as the band's first new song in six years. The band announced the album in April 2026 with an open letter to Lemmy, released alongside the single "Alive After Death (Last Plane Out)," whose lyric Joel O'Keeffe wrote on the tour bus. The label's notes describe that song and the closer, "Send Me To Rock 'N' Roll Heaven," as tributes to the band's late heroes; the closer names Lemmy, Bon Scott, John Bonham, The Angels' Doc Neeson and Little Richard.
