One of the first African-led bands to break into the British mainstream, Osibisa - formed in London by Ghanaian saxophonist Teddy Osei - fused highlife with rock, jazz, funk, soul, and psychedelia to define the sound of 1970s Afro-rock in Europe. Welcome Home (1975) was the band's debut for Bronze Records under manager-producer Gerry Bron, and includes the enduring hit "Sunshine Day."
This 50th-anniversary edition, out August 21, 2026 on Prestige Elite Records, is an indie exclusive pressed on 180-gram green, black, and white "Psychedelic Splatter" special-effect vinyl.
