Analogue Productions' UHQR pressing: a single LP at 33 1/3 RPM on 200 gram Clarity Vinyl, a formulation made without carbon black, pressed at Quality Record Pressings. Numbered and limited to 7,500 copies, catalog AUHQR 0029. The record sits in a Stoughton Printing Old Style tip-on gatefold jacket with a scuff-resistant matte finish, inside a deluxe textured clamshell box.

Chris Bellman cut it at Bernie Grundman Mastering from the original analog master tapes. The running order is the 1971 album's, two sides, with no bonus material.

Who's Next was released on August 2, 1971 in the United States and later that month in Britain. It is what survived of Lifehouse, the multimedia rock opera Pete Townshend had intended as the follow-up to Tommy. Glyn Johns, credited as associate producer, pressed the band to put out a single studio album instead, and said afterwards that he had acted mainly in an engineering capacity and based most of the arrangements on Townshend's demos. Recording ran from April to June 1971, at Stargroves with the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio and at Olympic Studios in London.

The album reached number one in the United Kingdom and number four on the Billboard 200.
