Psychedelic Moods is the debut album by The Deep, a studio-only group built around Rusty Evans, a former rockabilly singer and Greenwich Village folk-revival musician who set out to make a record centered on the psychedelic experience. Subtitled A Mind Expanding Phenomena, it is frequently cited as among the earliest albums to carry the word "psychedelic" in its title.
Released on Cameo-Parkway in November 1966, the album was cut in a two-day session at the label's Philadelphia studio on a modest budget, layering fuzz guitar, tape effects, and studio experiments across twelve tracks. This Indie Exclusive 60th-anniversary reissue is on eco-mix orange vinyl.
