Special Edition Super Deluxe 5LP + 7-inch Box Set on 180g Black Vinyl
This is the vinyl Super Deluxe configuration of Rubber Soul: Special Edition, released by Apple Corps and UMG on October 2, 2026. Five LPs pressed on 180-gram black vinyl, each in a poly-lined inner sleeve inside its own album jacket, sit alongside a 7-inch single and an 88-page hardback book in a 12-inch slipcase. The book opens with a foreword from John Lennon and an introduction by Paul McCartney, and carries photographs, background on the album and notes on every track.
LP1 is the new stereo mix by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell, built from the original four-track master tapes with the de-mixing technology developed by Peter Jackson's WingNut Films for The Beatles: Get Back. It is half-speed mastered, as are the two sessions LPs that follow it. LP4 returns to the original mono master. LP5 reproduces the original Capitol US album, the twelve-track North American edition that kept ten of the fourteen UK songs and added "I've Just Seen a Face" and "It's Only Love," two tracks withheld from Help!.
LP2 and LP3 gather 26 tracks of sessions, demos and the single. The UMG and Apple Corps announcement counts 20 previously unreleased takes and three previously unreleased home demos across the Super Deluxe sets, among them early versions of "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out," and "Little Girl," a John Lennon song outline that had never been released or even rumored. The 7-inch carries the 2023 mixes of "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out," the non-album double A-side recorded during the Rubber Soul sessions. In all, the box holds 68 tracks.
Rubber Soul, the Beatles' sixth studio album, was recorded at EMI Studios in London from October 12, 1965 and issued in the UK on Parlophone on December 3 that year. It topped the sales charts in Britain and the United States, and the RIAA certified it 6x platinum in 1997.
