Weezer is the band's 2026 self-titled studio album, released on Reprise Records and out August 21, 2026. Fans have nicknamed it "The Gold Album" for its stark gold cover art, the first Weezer self-titled record without a photo of the band on the sleeve. The album was written by three of the band's four members and recorded after the group reconvened in Orange County to write together in a rehearsal space; it marks the first time since the band's 1994 debut that Rivers Cuomo and Patrick Wilson built the foundations of songs together from scratch.
It was produced by Klas Ahlund and Kenneth Blume (formerly known as Kenny Beats), who pursued a stripped-back, live "rock band in a room" approach, with all four members recording drum tracks live together. The lead single, "We Might As Well Be Strangers," features guest vocals from Karly Hartzman of Wednesday.
