[PREORDER] The Smashing Pumpkins - Gish

Gish is the debut studio album by The Smashing Pumpkins, originally released on May 28, 1991, by Virgin Records. The album was recorded primarily at Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, with production by Butch Vig, prior to his later work on Nirvana’s Nevermind.

This edition is issued as RSD Essential 093 and commemorates the album’s 35th anniversary. It features a newly remastered audio presentation pressed on 180-gram vinyl, housed in packaging that replicates the original 1991 release. The vinyl is pressed on gray vinyl with pink and purple splatter, exclusive to this release.

Gish includes the band’s early singles “I Am One,” “Siva,” and “Rhinoceros,” tracks that helped establish the group’s initial sound and led to significant alternative-rock radio and MTV exposure in the early 1990s. The album predates the band’s mainstream breakthrough with Siamese Dream and documents their earliest full-length studio work.

This release is a single-LP pressing and carries the original album track sequence.
