Free Electricity is The Go's storied, long-lost second album, finally getting a proper worldwide release. The Detroit group led by Bobby Harlow — whose early lineup featured Dave Buick on bass and Jack White on guitar — cut these sessions at Ghetto Recorders after touring behind their 1999 debut Whatcha Doin', with Dion Fischer on lead guitar, John Olson of Wolf Eyes on saxophone, and Cary Loren of Destroy All Monsters guesting.

Produced and mixed by Matthew Smith of Outrageous Cherry and engineered by Jim Diamond, the record chases '60s free jazz as much as rock and roll — blaring lead guitars, cavernous reverb, and mixes that land closer to Pharoah Sanders and Sun Ra than to anything The Go's peers were making. Sub Pop describes the sound as a haunted frequency beamed from the Grande Ballroom circa 1968.

This is the Loser Edition on metallic gold vinyl. Ten tracks, written, composed, and arranged by Bobby Harlow (the title track with Dion Fischer; "Pharaoh's Tomb" with Cary Loren). Mastered by Jim Kissling in Detroit. Released September 4, 2026 on Sub Pop, catalog SP1349.
