River Shook's self-titled solo debut marks a new chapter following the end of Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, arriving on the artist's own label, Blackberry River. Made on a shoestring budget in a home studio in rural North Carolina, the album was co-produced by Shook and partner Blake Tallent, who plays nearly every instrument outside of Shook's guitar, pedal steel, and banjo. The result is a sweeping, fully realized country-rock record built on searing honesty and vivid storytelling, pairing soaring electric guitar with shimmering pedal steel. The songs explore love, distance, and emotional reckoning, balancing heartbreak with resilience and defiance.
