Recorded in Manchester, UK in 1966, Live at Club ’43 captures jazz vocalist Mark Murphy during his formative years performing in Britain. Backed by Joe Palin (piano), Alan Cooper (bass), and Tony Oxley (drums), Murphy interprets jazz standards and bebop material with the inventive phrasing and vocal improvisation that would later define his career.
These previously unreleased live performances showcase Murphy performing standards including “Sometimes I’m Happy,” “Tenderly,” “A Foggy Day,” and “Gone With the Wind.” This edition is pressed on 180-gram black vinyl across two LPs and released as an Indie Exclusive pressing.
