SURFILMUSIC (Soundtrack & 4-Tracks) is a companion release to Jack Johnson’s 2026 documentary film SURFILMUSIC, tracing his journey from surfer to filmmaker to musician. The double album combines original soundtrack recordings with a deep collection of archival four-track recordings from Johnson’s earliest sessions.

The soundtrack features music composed by Jack Johnson alongside Hermanos Gutiérrez, blending new instrumental material with Johnson’s signature laid-back acoustic style. The second half of the release presents raw, home-recorded four-track versions of early songs, offering a stripped-down look at the foundations of his catalog, including early versions of tracks like “Flake,” “Taylor,” and “Bubble Toes.”

Spanning film score, surf culture, and early demo recordings, SURFILMUSIC connects Johnson’s origins in surf filmmaking with the sound that would define his career.
