Location Lost is the seventh studio album from Failure, and this is its indie-retail exclusive pressing: nine tracks on Scorched Fog Swirl 180-gram vinyl, housed in a gatefold jacket, released April 24, 2026 on Failure Records / Arduous Records through Virgin Music Group.

Founders Ken Andrews and Greg Edwards split guitars, bass, and keyboards, with longtime drummer Kelli Scott on drums and percussion. Andrews recorded, mixed, and mastered the album at his Red Swan Studios in Los Angeles, with drum tracking at Akira Audio in Woodland Hills. It is the band's fourth album since their 2014 reunion, following 2021's Wild Type Droid, and was made after the group completed Every Time You Lose Your Mind, the Hulu/Disney+ documentary on their three-decade career.

The first single, "The Air's On Fire," grew out of Andrews' recovery from a back injury that required surgery — written shortly after he finished editing the documentary. The album also includes "The Rising Skyline," which features a guest vocal from Paramore's Hayley Williams.
