Curió Curió is the debut from Rio-born, Austria-based singer and actress Luiza Monteiro and German producer Dustin Braun, an uplifting Brazilian MPB-groove project shaped by psychedelic disco and studio experimentation. In their own words, the sound "is not straight disco, not straight samba, not strictly old-school but inspired by all of them," a modern fusion drawing as much on Gal Costa and Jorge Ben Jor as Say She She and Bala Desejo.

As a Brazilian living in Europe, Monteiro's lyrics explore identity, culture, and belonging, moving between cities and emotional registers without settling. Braun's production builds initial ideas without obvious reference points, later layering rhythmic and vocal elements that hint at Brazil without reproducing it; analogue tape, ribbon microphones, and live ensemble recording give the album a tactile quality. Highlights include the samba street groove of 'Bem Querer' and the cosmic-tinged Brazilian boogie of 'Vem pra Casa'.
