Greatest Chesky Audiophile Jazz Recordings is a curated anthology marking the 40th anniversary of Chesky Records, the label world-renowned for its high-resolution audiophile recordings, issued as part of the Chesky Original Masters series. The set spans John Pizzarelli swinging "Gee Baby Ain't I Good to You," Rosa Passos with bassist Ron Carter on "Bahia Com H," Leny Andrade alongside pianist Fred Hersch on "Manha Da Carnaval," Alexis Cole's "After You've Gone," Beat Kaestli's intimate "The Nearness of You," and Monty Alexander's vibrant "Sweet Georgia Brown," plus cuts from Clark Terry, the Jimmy Cobb Quartet, Wycliffe Gordon, and the powerhouse lineup of Javon Jackson, David Hazeltine, Tony Reedus, and Paul Gill on "Caravan." Every track was captured live in natural, reverberant acoustic spaces without artificial processing or overdubbing.
