Bon Iver's debut full-length, originally self-released by Justin Vernon in 2007 and reissued by Jagjaguwar in 2008, returns on 100% reclaimed vinyl as part of the label's ReVinyl program. The pressing is made from recycled vinyl material, so every copy arrives in a unique random color, no two records identical.

The album was written and recorded by Vernon alone in a cabin in northwestern Wisconsin over a single winter, following the dissolution of his previous band and a bout of mononucleosis. The resulting record, built around stacked falsetto harmonies, finger-picked acoustic guitar, and the spare room sound of the cabin itself, made an immediate critical impression. "Skinny Love" became the project's breakout single, and the song has been widely covered in the years since.

For Emma, Forever Ago has remained a touchstone of the indie folk catalog since its release.

This ReVinyl edition is part of a Secretly Group, Music Declares Emergency, and Music Climate Pact partnership marking World Environment Day. A portion of proceeds supports climate initiatives.
