Mr Bongo reissues Bobby Williams' 1974 deep-funk rarity Funky Super Fly, a set of raw, horn-driven grooves cut by the vocalist and bandleader with clear James Brown DNA. Long a funk-collector favorite, it later reached a wider audience through sampling: the title track fed DJ Shadow's "The Number Song" on Endtroducing, and "Soul Brother Party" turned up on Coldcut's "More Beats & Pieces." Alongside the dancefloor cuts sit the deep soul ballad "Morning of Love" and the wah-wah instrumental closer "Fair Trade."
