This is Music On Vinyl's gold pressing of Chet Baker Sings Again, a limited edition on 180 gram vinyl under catalog number MOVLP3119. The label issues it as part of the 50th anniversary of Timeless, the Dutch jazz label that first released the album, and a 50th Anniversary Timeless Jazz sticker is fixed to the protective outer sleeve. The gold run is its own pressing, separate from the yellow and numbered aquamarine editions Music On Vinyl has issued of the same record.

Baker recorded the album on October 2 and 8, 1985, at Studio 44 in Monster, Holland, singing and playing trumpet with Michel Graillier on piano, Ricardo Del Fra on bass and John Engels on drums. Makoto Kimata and Wim Wigt produced it, and Timeless released the LP as SJP 238.

Music On Vinyl's notes present it as the follow-up to Chet Baker Sings, his 1954 vocal album; until that earlier record, Baker had worked almost entirely as an instrumentalist. The program is eight standards, from Cole Porter's "All of You" to Irving Berlin's "How Deep Is the Ocean," with side B opening on "My Funny Valentine," a song Baker had been identified with since his years with Gerry Mulligan.
