Carnage was a short-lived but seminal Swedish death-metal band whose members fanned out across the genre's foundational acts: guitarist Michael Amott went on to Carcass and later founded Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars, while vocalist Matti Karki, guitarist David Blomqvist, and drummer Fred Estby would go on to form Dismember.
Dark Recollections is the band's only studio album, released by Earache Records on November 26, 1990. It was recorded that February at Sunlight Studio in Stockholm with engineer and co-producer Tomas Skogsberg, and originally issued as a split CD with Cadaver's Hallucinating Anxiety through Earache's Necrosis sublabel, wrapped in cover artwork by Dan Seagrave. Several songs, among them "Death Evocation" and "Self Dissection," trace back to Dismember demos from 1988 and 1989 and were later re-recorded by that band. This Indie Exclusive pressing is on red and black marble vinyl.
