God Bless The Blake Babies had never been issued on vinyl until American Laundromat Records pressed it for the album's 25th anniversary. The first run came on black, midnight blue and splatter vinyl; this clear pressing is the label's second run, listed at 300 copies, and comes in a gatefold jacket under catalog number ALR-0076.

Scott Hull mastered the vinyl and cut the lacquers at Masterdisk, and the records were pressed at Gotta Groove Records in Cleveland, Ohio. Aaron Tanner prepared the reissue artwork.

The album was first released on March 6, 2001, and was recorded during a brief reunion of Juliana Hatfield, John Strohm and Freda Love Smith, the trio who formed Blake Babies in Boston in 1986. Paul Mahern produced it with the band at Echo Park Studios.

The songwriting is shared around the group: Hatfield and Strohm wrote the opener, "Disappear", and Freda Love Smith wrote "Nothing Ever Happens".
