In the label's account these are the recordings that earned the band its record contract, which NME dates to Geffen in 1993.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSharp, the band's founding bassist, found the multitrack reel, a 1-inch Ampex tape, while going through his own archive of unreleased recordings. He and producer Joe Chicarrelli took it to East\/West Studios in Los Angeles, where Sharp produced and Chicarrelli remixed the songs in an entirely analog process, from tape to vinyl.
