It follows \u003cem\u003eNell' Ora Blu\u003c\/em\u003e, which the label's notes describe as a synth-led soundtrack for an imaginary giallo film.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe band tracked the record live to analog tape at Abbey Road Studios in three days with engineer Chris Bolster, whose earlier clients Killer Candy lists as including Phil Spector, Ozzy Osbourne and Paul McCartney. The sessions used antique Neumann microphones along with period consoles and compressors, and Grammy-nominated engineer Noel Summerville mastered the album.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eKiller Candy describes it as a concept album drawn partly from Edgar Allan Poe's \u003cem\u003eThe Masque of the Red Death\u003c\/em\u003e, and as a return to the guitar-led attack of the band's earlier records.
