Discs one and two hold a newly remastered version of the original double album. Discs three through eight present all six concerts from which it was drawn, complete, and the label notes that five of them had never been released and four were newly mixed from the original tapes.

The set comes in a two-part rigid slipcase with eight mini-LP style sleeves and a 24-page booklet. Its new liner notes are by Michael Hann, who interviewed Phil Mogg, Andy Parker and Michael Schenker for them. Ron Nevison, who produced the 1979 album, mixed the main concerts again for this edition.

The recordings were made over six consecutive nights, October 13 to 18, 1978, on an American tour, using the Record Plant mobile studio. The lineup was Mogg on vocals, Schenker on lead guitar, Paul Raymond on keyboards and rhythm guitar, Pete Way on bass and Parker on drums. Schenker left the band during that tour.

Released in 1979, the double album reached No. 7 in the UK and No. 42 on the Billboard 200, and its live "Doctor Doctor" became a No. 35 UK single. Kerrang! placed it at No. 47 on its list of the 100 greatest heavy metal albums.

Tracklist

Disc 1: Original Album, Part
