Island, Interscope and UMe issued it in the US on June 2, 2017, under catalog number B0026626-01, the year U2 toured the album in full for its anniversary.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe sleeve came out of a trip into the Mojave Desert in December 1986, when the band spent several days on a bus with photographer Anton Corbijn and designer Steve Averill. The working titles had been \u003cem\u003eThe Desert Songs\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003eThe Two Americas\u003c\/em\u003e. Corbijn shot the front cover at Zabriskie Point in Death Valley.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe album first came out on March 9, 1987, and it put U2 on the cover of \u003cem\u003eTime\u003c\/em\u003e that April 27 as \"Rock's Hottest Ticket,\" the fourth rock band to appear there. In the US it was the first album by any artist to sell a million copies on CD, and it has since been certified diamond.
