Records issuing it in the UK and Europe. The LP comes with a download card and a two-sided insert printed with the lyrics and credits.

Brothers Nye and Adam Todd play guitar and sing, AC Cory plays bass and sings, and Niall McCamley plays drums. The four met through the comedy society at the University of Edinburgh, and the band's name points to a nickname for the Glasgow School of painters. Matthew Johnson recorded and mixed the album at Suburban Home Studio and added organ and synths, and John Greenham mastered it.

Slumberland's notes tie the songs to the band's own lives. Nye wrote "Still Alive," the video above, after leaving an emotionally abusive relationship, and wrote the words to "Bad Year" the day after the Brexit vote. "Body" deals with body image, which the label connects to Nye coming to terms with his trans identity, and "Less Than Perfect" and "High School" go back to teenage insecurity. The sample in "Still Alive" is of the comedian Josie Long.

The album was long-listed for the 2018 Scottish Album of the Year Award. The Spook School split in 2019 and announced their return in August 2026 with a fourth album, Like A Heartbeat, again on Slumberland.

Tracklist

Side A

Still Alive

Best of Intentions

Less Than Perfect

Keep in Touch

Bad Year

Alright (Sometimes)

Side B

I Only Dance When I Want To

I Hope She Loves You

While You Were Sleeping

Body

High School

UPC: 749846022714
Label: Slumberland Records
Release Date: 1.26.18
Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0718/8801/1422/files/3000x3000bb_d670cb03-3d78-453b-8922-7b6824722db0.jpg?v=1791882005
