Its twelve songs run six to a side. An opaque maroon pressing of the same edition was issued alongside it. The Radio Dept. started Just So! after leaving Labrador Records, and it has carried their releases since, including the 2019 LP I Don't Need Love, I've Got My Band.

Pet Grief is the Lund band's second album, following the 2003 debut Lesser Matters. Labrador released it in Sweden on April 12, 2006, a month after the single "The Worst Taste in Music," and it reached No. 12 on the Swedish albums chart. Johan Duncanson and Martin Larsson produced and mixed it themselves, with Daniel Tjäder on keyboards and Per Blomgren drumming on "A Window," and Alan Duncanson took the cover photograph. Synthesizers replaced the distorted guitar buzz of the debut. The album reached the rest of Europe, the UK included, later that year, and in the US it was available through Darla and Labrador.

Reviews were mixed. Pitchfork's John Motley wrote that "the songs on Pet Grief are easy to fall in love with," AllMusic's K. Ross Hoffman called it "a rich and evocative mood piece, and still eminently worth hearing," and The Guardian's Maddy Costa found that "in the right mood, there is something shy and lovely about Pet Grief."

Tracklist

Side A

It's Personal

Pet Grief

A Window

I Wanted You to Feel the Same

South Side

The Worst Taste in Music

Side B

Every Time

What Will Give?

Gibraltar

Sleeping In

Tell

Always a Relief

UPC: 617308068573
Label: Just So
Release Date: 11.13.26
Format: Vinyl
