It is a single LP on limited opaque jade blue vinyl, in a poly-lined inner sleeve, with a download code included. The label also issued the reissue on black vinyl, on CD and as a smoke-colored LP sold through its own mail order. The jade blue run went to independent shops.

Master, We Perish first came out in 2013 and had long been out of print. Drummer Lee Buford and guitarist and vocalist Chip King recorded it at Machines with Magnets with Keith Souza and Seth Manchester, shortly before the duo left Providence for Portland. It sits between All the Waters of the Earth Turn to Blood and Christs, Redeemers in their catalog. Thrill Jockey's notes say it brought more precision to the layered sound and leaned harder on percussive samples. Assembly of Light Choir leader Chrissy Wolpert, choir member Reba Mitchell and Otesanek vocalist Leslie Weitz add vocals. David Lifrieri adds guitar, and Souza and Manchester add drums.

Side A holds the three original tracks, remastered for this edition. Side B gathers rarities from the band's early years: "Cop Killer" and "Dead Cop," recorded in 2005 for the Cop Killer/Dead Cops 7-inch, and "Untitled," recorded in 2004 and taken from the duo's split single with Get Killed. All three were also cut at Machines with Magnets. According to the label, the band summed them up in one word: "NASTY."

The jacket shows Manifester's cover painting in its original form for the first time. Manifester is Matt Brinkman, the Providence artist known for Mindflayer and Forcefield.

Tracklist

Side A

The Ebb and Flow of Tides in a Sea of Ash

The Blessed Lay Down and Writhe in Agony

Worship

Side B

Cop Killer

Dead Cop

Untitled

*** Indie Exclusive ***
UPC: 790377660111
Label: Thrill Jockey
Release Date: 7.31.26
Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0718/8801/1422/files/1cfd87e17a049fb251be78d8b39252ed_0ce336f1-0905-4aa4-a2cb-4e20c42dc728.jpg?v=1791715260
