The physical edition was first planned only as part of the \u003cem\u003eAnthology Collection\u003c\/em\u003e box set; after objections from fans it was also issued on its own, as this 3LP and as a 2CD.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGiles Martin compiled the set, which carries 13 previously unreleased outtakes from sessions between 1963 and 1969 alongside 23 previously released recordings. Side six gathers the three songs built from John Lennon's home demos: new 2025 mixes of \"Free As A Bird\" and \"Real Love\" by their original producer, Jeff Lynne, using Lennon vocals extracted with the same machine-learning-assisted restoration first used on \"Now And Then\", the band's final single from 2023, which closes the record.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFive singles preceded release, beginning with \"Free As A Bird (2025 Mix)\" on August 21, 2025, followed by \"Helter Skelter (Second Version: Take 17)\", \"While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Third Version: Take 27)\", \"I've Just Seen A Face (Take 3)\" and \"In My Life (Take 1)\". The album holds a Metacritic score of 86 out of 100.
